This study is done with the aim of intervening the social adjustment and reducing impulsive behaviors of male students with mathematical learning disabilities: Efficiency and effectiveness of parents with Adlerian approach. This is a quasi-experimental study with pretest, post-test and control group. The study population included all parents of 10 to 12 years students with mathematics learning disabilities in Noorabad (Delfan) city at academic year 2012-2013. The sample consisted of 40 parents of male students with mathematics learning disabilities. Parents, after being identified by Key Math Test and structured clinical interview, were randomly selected and assigned to experimental and control groups. Research instruments were Structured Clinical Interview, Key Math Test, Barratt Impulsivity Scale, and social adjustment questionnaire. For both groups, the pre-test and post-test were executed. In the implementation process, the experimental group received Adlerian parent training for 12 sessions of 75 minutes while the control group received no intervention. Multivariate analysis of variance was used to analyze the data statistically. The results of multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) showed that the plan of parent training with Adlerian approach is effective on reducing impulsivity and improving social adjustment of their children (P≤0/001). That leads to decreasing impulsivity and improving social, emotional and educational adjustment of students with dyscalculia. It can be concluded that Adlerian treatment is an efficient method to improve the behavioral symptoms in students with disorders and their differences in other factors in students with dyscalculia need to be examined.
