Abstract

Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of developing a neuropsychological rehabilitation program and investigating its effectiveness on the reading performance of children with dyslexia.
Methods: This research in terms of purpose, it was applied, and in terms of data collection, it was experimental with a pre-test-post-test design, with a control group. The statistical population included all students with reading disorders in the third grade of elementary school in 2024 in special centers for learning disorders in the 10th education district of Tehran. A number of 28 students with reading disorders were selected by purposive sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental (14) and control (14) groups. The neuropsychological rehabilitation intervention program was implemented for the experimental group for 14 sessions in 60 minutes and the control group did not receive training program. Isfahan Reading Comprehension Test was used as an evaluation tool. For data analysis, analysis of covariance statistical test was used, respecting the default assumptions of the application.
Results: The results showed that the neuropsychological rehabilitation intervention program was effective on the reading performance of the experimental group with dyslexia. (P<0.01).
Conclusion: According to the obtained results, it can be mention that the intervention program of neuropsychological rehabilitation was effective on the reading performance of people with dyslexia, so it is suggested that the neuropsychological rehabilitation as an effective intervention method should be used to strengthen the reading ability of students with dyslexia.
